Plans have been submitted for a four storey plus basement scheme at 21-27 Sheldon Street in Croydon.
The plans, submitted by JB Shakespeare Ltd, call for the demolition of the existing buildings followed by the building of a new four storey block with ground floor commericla space and 23 flats above.
The site is located close to the Croydon Flyover, and currently consists of Shakespeare Funerals. It is surrounded by terraced housing, making it an appropriate place for residential development. Indeed the existing building contains two flats already despite being a Chapel of Rest.
They’ll be 11 one bed, 10 two bed and two three bed flats, replacing the two two-bedders above the funeral home. The designs by Geraghty Taylor Architects consist of a block of light cream bricks with recessed balconies.
