Plans have been lodged for an eight-storey building on the site of a car park on Copeland Road, Peckham. The scheme has been submitted by Southwark Council and will deliver 25 private, 18 intermediate and 24 social rent homes.
Alan Camp Architects are behind the design, which utilises shades of grey and orange-brown brick. The scheme will also enhance and existing ball-games court on site, and add new play spaces in a courtyard.
Despite the current use being a car park, only 3 car parking spaces are proposed in the replacement. Not that car parking is needed, with the site a short walk from Peckham Rye Station and even closer to the High Street.
A scheme of a similar height from another developer is being drawn up for the site immediately to the West of this, as shown in some of the renders.
