Montreaux have submitted plans to Barnet Council to demolish the car showrooms on Colney Hatch Lane, just north of the Tesco superstore, and replace them with seven storey apartment blocks containing 204 homes.
Assael Architecture propose two courtyard blocks with six storeys of brick with an additional storey of turquoise coloured housing at roof level. The brick element will be a mixture of blends, mainly of buff light to medium shade but with some darker elements as stretcher and header elements.
The ground floor will consist of a substantial retail unit, car parking and a small number of flats. In total 131 of the flats are proposed for the private market, with 16 for socail rent and 57 for intermediate tenure.
