Plans in: 9 Storey Scheme with 20 Affordable Rent Flats in Limehouse

Plans have been submitted to Tower Hamlets for a 9 storey residential building containing twenty affordable rent flats in a slimline block overlooking the Limehouse Cut.

The designs, by Bell Phillips Architects, will mix brick and metallic cladding, with large balconies fronting the corner of Salmon Lane and the Limehouse canal. The site is currently an overground patch of trees and shrubs in front of an existing block of flats.

The flats will be offered at discounts on market rent, with the one bed flats highest as 65% of going rates, with the four bed flats at just 48% of going rent. These will make the flats more expensive than social rent, but still more affordable to key workers and others unable to afford market rates.
