Angle Property has submitted plans to replace the Shell petrol station on York Way, Wandsworth with a new eight storey apartment building with a mixture of 89 intermediate and private rented flats.
The site was previously a Savoy art deco theatre before it become a petrol station, and the architects, TP Bennett, have adopted some of the language, specifically the vertical elements, from the old theatre into their design for the apartment block.
The scheme is located adjacent to the recently completed Battersea Reach development, although is probably more suited to the rental market than its private-sale neighbour due to the proximity to the busy York Road.
