Plans in: 8 Flats in Roof Extension in Croydon

Sunbel Developments have submitted plans to Croydon Council to construct an additional eight flats on top of Emerald House on Lansdowne Road. The plans, drawn up by Delta Architects, will see extra flats built in a single storey on top of the existing five storey building.

Emerald House also has a 12 storey element, although the plans relate purely to the five storey segment. The entire building was sold for just £4.5 million in 2013 to Abstract by CBRE, just after permitted development office to residential came into action.

The building was subsequently turned into flats, with one bed apartments starting at £250,000. One is currently for sale for substantially more – £337,000 on the 9th floor, despite being a relatively small 438 square feet. Completion on these flats isn’t due until early 2017. It’s not clear if the extension, if permitted, will be constructed prior to occupation of the other flats.
