Plans in: 4 Storey, 5 Flat & Retail Scheme in Hackney

Plans have been lodged for new four storey mixed use building on Mare Street in Hackney. The site, 386-388 Mare Street, currently houses a Boots and has storage on the upper level.

The new build contains a larger store – up from 299sqm to 364sqm – as well as five flats on the upper level, one one-bed flat, and four two-bed apartments.

dMFK architects have drawn up the scheme which uses  red brick for the lower three floors, then a set back dark roof floor with a zig-zag roof. The proposals are slightly taller than the immediate neighbours, but not out of character with other buildings on the same street where four storeys with set back rooflines is a common feature.
