Red Door Ventures, a firm set up by Newham Council, has submitted plans for 77 apartments for the private rented sector next to the Greenway in Plaistow.
The flats will be in two L-shaped buildings, one of five and one of six stories, arranged around a courtyard with views over the Greenway, a stretch of pedestrian and cyclist only park and path that extends the complete length of the borough. It’s currently in quite a poor condition, but with the right vision could be turned into London’s version of the high line.
The apartment blocks have been designed by Karakusevic Carson Architects, who has created two solid New London Vernacular buildings with large balconies.
