Plans in: 20 Storey, 27 Unit Pencil Tower in Wandsworth

Baylight has lodged a planning application with Wandsworth Council to build an ultra-skinny 20 storey residential tower on the site of a small car park next to the River Wandle, just south of the Southside Shopping centre in Wandsworth.

The tower, designed by Sergison Bates Architects, will contain just 27 residential flats, 19 of which will be for the private market with the remaining nine for intermediate tenure. The application also contains proposals to open up a river walk and includes a small cafe.

The site is located fairly close to a tower currently being constructed by Pocket Homes on Mapleton Crescent, which includes many flats designed for discount sale to those earning below a threshold.
