9 Flats Proposed in Clapton

The former St John’s Ambulance building near Clapton Pond will be replaced by a four storey building containing nine flats, if plans submitted to Hackney Council last week are approved.

Progress Planning submitted the application on behalf of Aylesbury-registered Boutique Property Developments Ltd, which will fill in the gap between traditional terraced housing and a recent four storey development on the corner of Millfields and Mildenhall Roads.

The designs will see a light coloured brick used, with the building stepping up from the period housing to the height of the adjacent contemporary flatted block. These replace existing single storey building which can be viewed on Google Streetview here. As with most small project new build housing in inner London, the flats are designed as car-free with future residents ineligible for on street parking permits.
